The items worn and on the body of Dillinger after the shooting were carefully inventoried by SA Daniel Sullivan in his statement to file. Inspector Cowley, in a summary memorandum to Hoover, "clipped" portions of Sullivan's statement and included it into the memorandum which, even today, is common procedure.
