Special Agent Henry L. "Hank" Sloan had an illustrious career with the FBI beginning in 1935 as a Special Agent and on to Firearms Instructor and then to Special Agent In Charge at FBI Training, Quantico, Va.

On this site, you can see the many photos donated by the Sloan family along with his daughter's biography of her father in the "Articles" Section.  "Hank" Sloan was no doubt one of the pioneers of new developments at the FBI Academy beginning in the early 1940s. In addition to his many other duties while SAC at Quantico, Sloan had the opportunity to participate in several FBI movies and assist in the production of "The FBI" TV program.

SA Sloan's 1935 diary, while in training, is courtesy of the family.  The diary is rich in detail at points with regard to the daily activities of the agents in training, the type of weapons being utilized, manuals being studied and personal relationships.  While we cannot bring our readers the entire diary here, we can make multiple pages available and have done so.

The diary is one of only two we are aware of reflecting the 1930s era in the Bureau....
